Volunteer Opportunities

Our volunteers organize and implement numerous fundraisers, campaigns, and awareness events across Canada, the U.S.A., and Ukraine to help cover operating costs. Our fundraisers aim to involve all members of our community and contribute to the community’s ongoing development while raising funds for our various Projects.

 

Annual opportunities

Help Us Help has several annual volunteer opportunities*. A general outline of a typical year is included in the image on the right.

Camps

  • Winter Camp (10 days in January)

  • Ruslana’s Summer Camp (2 weeks in August)

Fundraisers/Campaigns

  • Carolling/Kolyada

  • Annual Summer Camp Fundraiser (May)

  • Annual Winter Camp Fundraiser (November)

Booths

  • Holiday Bazaars - Easter and Christmas

  • Toronto Ukrainian Festival

Volunteer-run initiatives

We encourage our volunteers to organize their own independent campaigns!

Some examples of past volunteer-run initiatives include Zabavas, pub nights, pierogi fundraisers, elementary school civvies days, and virtual birthday fundraisers in support of Help Us Help.

Help Us Help is happy to provide support in an official capacity if and when it's requested.

Just giving - virtual fundraising

Step 1: Visit https://www.justgiving.com/ and press “Start Fundraising”

Step 2: Create a JustGiving account

Step 3: Use the drop down menu to select “Canada” and the search bar to search for “Help Us Help “

Step 4: Choose your campaign (options below)

Don’t forget to email volunteer@helpushelp.charity to let us know what you’re doing so we can support you in your fundraiser!

Facebook virtual fundraising

Step 1: Log into your Facebook Account

Step 2: Under “Create Post” press the “… (more)”

Step 3: Select “Raise Money”

Step 4: Search for “Help Us Help Ukraine” and select our charity

Step 5: Follow the prompts to create a virtual fundraiser in support of HUH!
